about me

hi hello! I'm an Atlanta based product designer with a background working in libraries, classrooms, and comedy venues. I love to make people feel happy and seen -- whether it's by finding the perfect book or punchline. If there's one thing I know it's how to identify someone's goal and create an experience that resonates with them.

Through these experiences, I've become an expert in adapting to my audience and helping folks feel comfortable in a conversation. This has informed my UX research strategy and helps me connect with the user as an empathetic listener who makes clients & collaborators feel at ease. As a UX Designer I create products and technology that provide a simple, accessible, and enjoyable user experience!

librarian

making technology more accessible & inclusive

Learning more about the library catalog system from Jane (pictured above) in the technical services department inspired me to pursue a career in UX. I grew up trying to help patrons navigate websites at the library. I was frustrated when someone's overdue fines were written in such a small red font, and that they couldn't see it clearly. I used to dream of redesigning our card catalog.

designing & adapting experiences

I created curriculums for the summer reading program, and tailored our activities to each group’s interests. One summer we were supposed to be focused on health and wellness, but we decided to do activities about health in outer space. (picture a literacy class on Tatooine)

presenting ideas to colleagues and shareholders

To do stand up, I have to be confident & engaging in front of a variety of crowds. Not only have the past six years taught me how to improvise based off of user feedback (one might say hecklers) but more importantly how to build empathy with the audience.
